Tomekah George

Tomekah George is a Sheffield-based illustrator, animator, and founder of Yout Studio. Her work blends colorful collage with bold illustration, drawing inspiration from her Caribbean family background and traditional printmaking exposure during childhood. Tomekah's vibrant, textured style sits somewhere between a print and a painting, creating unique pieces that promote positive messages and address sensitive topics like feminism, inequality, and representation. She has worked with The Guardian, Free Black University, and various publishers, with her illustrations featured in animations, children's books, cards, homeware, and ceramics. In 2023, she illustrated her debut picture book "Becoming Brave" for Little Tiger. Yout Studio aims to mentor and promote artists from BIPOC, marginalised, or low-income backgrounds. She sells prints through RoomFifty and Women in Print.
