David J. McMillan

David J. McMillan is a Northern Irish illustrator and mural artist based in Bristol, England. After graduating from the University of the West of England in 2013, he has created work for The Guardian, Wired UK, Plansponsor, and Therapy Today. His work has been described as "organized chaos, " featuring bold, silly, and colorful characters with loose, energetic mark-making. Inspired by people watching and observational drawings from cities he's visited, David simplifies characters into basic or exaggerated shapes to convey movement and personality. His illustrations burst with layer upon layer of color and surprising structures, combining sketchbook spontaneity with thoughtful composition. Represented by UsFolk illustration agency.
