Collection: Vintage Polish Posters

We’ve partnered with Projekt 26 to bring you a collection of original, Soviet-era, vintage posters.

These posters were created by Polish artists and designers between the 1950s and 1980s when communist state control meant artists couldn't create openly critical work, but the regime oddly granted considerable freedom to poster designers working on ‘safe’ subjects like film, theatre, and circus advertisements. Polish artists seized this opening, developing a revolutionary visual language of surreal imagery, hand-drawn typography, and dark metaphor that rejected Western literalism for painterly abstraction.
