Jasper Van Gestel

Jasper Van Gestel is a multi-disciplinary artist, illustrator, and tattoo artist based in Antwerp, Belgium. Born in 1986 in Turnhout, he graduated in 2005 from Sint-Lukas in animation. His work features simple shapes, naive animals, and clean lines, drawing inspiration from the natural world, vintage visual culture from the 1950s-1970s, and traditional craftsmanship. Jasper creates paintings, illustrations, sculptures, children's books, and tattoos, floating between traditional tattooing and contemporary art and design. He is an apprentice at Brabo's Hand Tattoo and has exhibited at Museum Plantin-Moretus in Antwerp.
