I’m not a die hard Beatles fan. But I am a die hard Ringo fan. I’ve played drums off and on throughout my life and always come back to Ringo’s playing for inspiration. He’s the epitome of the “less is more” approach, which is something I try to subscribe to in all things. Ringo always plays exactly what the song needs, and never anything more, -he’s not flashy, not trying to upstage or outshine anyone. I think of Ringo as a bit of a punk in that way.
