Maaike Canne

Maaike Canne is an illustrator and visual artist based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Influenced by modernist architecture, interior design, and nature, her bold and colorful compositions are situated between representation and abstraction, exploring the ambiguity of interior and exterior space. Maaike's work draws inspiration from Japanese woodblock prints, architects like Le Corbusier, Luis Barragan, and Mies van der Rohe, and the Bauhaus movement. She has worked with The New Yorker, Google, Apple, Pinterest, Dropbox, Architectural Digest, Financial Times, Die Zeit, and The Atlantic. Maaike creates editorial illustrations, murals, and autonomous paintings. Represented by Jelly London.
