Collection: Sergiy Maidukov

Sergiy Maidukov is a Ukrainian illustrator based in Kyiv. Born in Donetsk in 1983 into a family of an artist and architect, he has worked as an illustrator since 2011. His brightly colored work is inspired by constructivism, modernism, brutalism in architecture, and American and European painting of the 1930s-1970s. Sergiy regularly works with The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and Die Zeit (where he has a weekly column). He created a Google Doodle celebrating Ukraine's independence in 2017 and has documented the war in Ukraine since 2022. His works are stored in the Library of Congress and exhibited in Ukrainian museums. In 2022, he refused the Erich Maria Remarque Peace Prize when it was jointly awarded with a Russian writer.
