About Roomfifty

We launched RoomFifty in 2017 as a place to make the best contemporary art accessible to everyone. As a group of professional illustrators and art directors, we love using images to tell stories – reducing complex ideas into simple, beautiful images. We wanted to start a company that would connect amazing artists, producing the best commercial work, with an art-loving audience.

Rather than start another print on demand site, we wanted to create an online gallery selling limited, museum-standard prints by a curated roster of the most exciting illustrators and designers in the world.

Being accessible is not just about price, so we limit the number of artists to 50 and ask each to produce just 3 works of art each season (every 4 months). We sell all of our prints in the same standard sizes for the same fixed prices. 50% of the profit goes directly to the artist, so as well as getting great art at a great price, you are also supporting working artists.

Production

We use professional, fade-resistant Epson inks and high quality 240gsm paper, resulting in beautiful, fully-archival prints with incredibly fine detail. Our paper is designed for archival storage and is acid-free, making it highly resistant to ageing. The paper is lignin-free, ensuring it will not yellow with age and is light resistant for at least 100 years.

Framing

Each framed print is individually handmade by specialist picture framers with 350 years of frame-making experience. Our frames are hand-made using solid ash from ethical, sustainable sources and high-quality 2mm thick float glass. Milled with simple, clean lines and presented with a satin finish. Our frames have a square, modern profile which works well in both contemporary and traditional environments.

Packaging

Prints are sent flat or rolled in heavyweight cardboard tubes and come with a certificate of authenticity, RoomFifty sticker and tote bag*. Framed prints are sent in bespoke boxes with foam padding to ensure that they arrive in the same condition they leave the studio. If you are not totally happy with the condition of your print when it arrives, please get in touch and we will arrange a replacement.
